description Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed Destiny

Gundam Seed Destiny is the sequel to the old Gundam game, Battle Assault, how did Bandai fare against making their game better? Actually very well indeed. While the game and the basic programming has not changed in total they have done a few tweaks to it to manage to bring in to you a new surge of adrenaline when playing this game. One thing is this game is much faster than the prequel, no waiting screens, no slow text, the Gundams fighting are now much more agile and able than before when you felt you were fighting with a slow block. That’s not the only things they’ve improved.

Graphics :
Graphics have basically stayed the same but yet I feel that they are better mostly because this new game contains a lot more characters than the old one(around double the amount of characters in the prequel), there are more stages and more colorful menu screens, which bring out these games graphics, before it was one dull menu screen, around 10 different Gundams and around 5 different stages, not so very exciting but now they’ve doubled everything making it more acceptable. Colors have also sharpened slightly if you look at the screen shots side by side of the same Gundams.

Controls :
The controls have remained the same, which in a way is not really a bad thing, but it can sometimes be bothersome with the heavy attack on the shoulders, the thing that has changed with this game is that the Gundams are now faster so that means you feel more control through the Gundam, in Battle Assault the Gundams were unresponsive and full of lag, in Destiny there is none of that Gundams are responsive and faster battles become much more interactive and exciting that way. I still hate the fact with the thrust and block mess up because the controls are so similar that you can mess them up, you might want to block so you quickly hold back to block but then you find yourself thrusting backwards so now you get hit.

Story :
The story is somewhat explained through the fighting mode but at the same time not made clear enough if you watch the series you will get it easily but if you don’t you will feel clueless about what is going on in this game, there’s not much of any explanation to it but then again fighting games aren’t really big on stories are they?

Game Play:
Now this score you may say is low for a game but trust me it’s a vast improvement from before although the game is still boring mostly because battles take so long, around five minutes each battle which is annoying when you have to go through story mode with twenty battles, and this game is very repetitive, it’s still better it’s now faster and more exciting, but still there’s more improvement needed. The game still has the useless PSI Armor that does absolutely nothing but keep your colors on and some Gundams don’t even turn gray when it runs out. The thrusters now generate slower than before so it becomes more useful to use them smart and now blow them all out for no reason. As a fighting game though this game is not as fun as other titles available on the market, like I said Guilty Gear, King of Fighters, Street Fighters and others totally destroy this game in a fun factor and in general actually for a fighting game, Bandai is going to have to up it one if it wants to compete with these big shots and not rely on the Gundam fan base to keep buying their games.

Repeatability:
This game gets boring before you get even half through it that you don’t even want to finish it, plus there’s a code that allows you to unlock everything so you don’t even need to keep collecting points and such, which completely destroys playing the painful game, it’s not really fun at all playing the same battles over and over when most Gundams in this game are very similar to each other.

Total :
If your a Gundam fan you might want to check this out other than that don’t bother it’s not worth it, trust me on that, the game is painfully boring and even with faster moving Gundams and more Gundams and stages it still has very easy to do special moves and basic fighting moves which leaves it as a dull and un entertaining game that pretty much plays like a broken tape recorder, over and over again.
